New employment tribunal compensation limits

Increases made in the annual review of employment tribunal compensation limits take effect today, 1 February 2012. For dismissals that are effective on or after 1 February 2012 the maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal will increase from £68,400 to £72,300.

For employees who are made redundant on or after 1 February the maximum amount of pay that can be taken into account for the purposes of calculating statutory redundancy pay entitlement increases to £430 gross per week(previously £400). The maximum statutory redundancy pay entitlement therefore increases to £12,900.
