Amendments to flexible working regime

With effect from 30th June 2014 the current employee right to request flexible working will be extended to any employee with 26 weeks’ continuous employment and the current statutory timetable for considering requests, will be replaced by a requirement to give reasonable consideration to requests.

DBIS launches “Consultation on Modern Workplace”

Consultation on proposals to “encourage greater choice by giving employers and employees the flexibility to find arrangements that suit them both” has been announced. Proposals include flexible parental leave and the extension of the right to request flexible working to all employees.
